Hello, I have watched several of your videos, my grandma is Greek but I don’t speak Greek fluently yet (I’m learning it), I don’t understand what you’re saying but I appreciate your passion for the Athenian rivers and seeing these videos. I live in San Antonio, Texas, which has a very similar natural landscape to Athens. We have many springs, creeks, caves, a big aquifer and the main San Antonio River. We are also very prone to flash flooding. Almost 100 years ago people wanted to bury our river underground after a terrible flood because they were scared of the river, but after some protests they instead did successful flood management and eventually built a beautiful river walk. It is a beautiful walkway along the river full of shops and hotels and restaurants, many big old trees and plants, and sculptures and art. It is the heart of our city and everyone agrees it is the best thing the city ever did. San Antonio wouldn’t be what it is today without the river walk. We have boat tours on the river, boat parades during holidays, during Christmas the trees on the riverbanks are full of lights and we have a Christmas boat parade on the river, it’s our city’s lifeblood. And during the hot Texas summer, it is so much cooler and more comfortable by the water under the shade of the trees, and there’s always ducks 🦆 and other birds enjoying the water too. Now, today they are also restoring a big creek called San Pedro Creek that had been turned into an ugly drainage channel years ago back into a natural creek park with a walkway, plants and art that showcases and celebrates the diverse history of San Antonio. They have also been restoring part of the San Antonio river on the south side of the city back into a natural river ecosystem with a walkway next to it too for exercise, and you can kayak on that section. The water quality is still not ideal but we are working on improving it and the overall health of the river ecosystem. You can look up the San Antonio Riverwalk on google and see all kinds of pictures, San Pedro Creek Park too. I think San Antonio can be a big example of what is possible in Athens. I imagine these rivers Ilissos and Kifissos turned into beautiful parks and river walks. They would be the heart of Athens! Imagine the possibilities, walking from one part of Athens to another along a river walk, taking a boat tour, having fun boat parades, kayaking, lights during the holiday, and more… it would restore Athens itself I think. I wish you well in your effort to save and restore the waters of Athens!! The best things are done by those who refuse to give up and are not afraid to dream big for a better future!

Έργα κυριολεκτικά σχεδιασμένα και υλοποιημένα στο πόδι, δίχως πρόβλεψη όχι μόνο καθαρισμού του ποταμού αλλά και συντηρήσεως/επίβλεψης των γεφυρών. Εύχομαι κυριολεκτικά να μην έχουμε θύματα γιατί κάποια στιγμή όλα αυτά θα καταρρεύσουν

Καλησπέρα σας. Απότι καταλαβαίνω δεν υπάρχει καμία βελτίωση μήν πώ πως όσο πάει χειροτερεύει κιόλας η κατάσταση. 2 ερωτήσεις. 1) Ο ευτροφισμός τι είναι? Επιβαρύνει το νερό? 2)Υπάρχει κανένα ρέμα στο όρος Αιγάλεω ή γενικά στο Αιγάλεω?
