This is so helpful! I am actually just starting my journey to become a LCSW, and it just came to me that I can have a private practice after I graduate!

I launched my private practice a few weeks ago thanks to you and your checklist! Once I decided I was going to do this, my first google search led me to you and I never looked back. THANK YOU!

I plan to have my private practice up and running within 60 days. I already have clients as I’m working contract at another agency. My issue is the gap between my practice and the former practice. My clients want to stick with me. I’m excited about new beginnings but of course doing this all alone

Thank you for all your videos! I just started my YouTube channel, and you have been a huge part of me gaining the courage to just go for it. One year of grad school left, lots of info to share, and even more to learn. Thank you 🙏

Thank you so much for these tips! They’re very helpful. Thank you for your fun, caring, encouraging and generous energy. I’m sure I speak for a lot of therapists when I say that we appreciate your expertise on how to start up a private practice. One question, where could I find consent forms to create my own without going through an expensive attorney? I’d appreciate your guidance on this. I can’t wait to start my part-time telehealth private practice this year! Wishing you abundance of blessings and prosperity with much success in your private practice! 🙏🏼😊💗🥳🥂✨

Oh my God! I'm an elementary school teacher from Argentina. Apparently, a classroom full of kids are all the same all over the world.

Wow, your videos are absolutely amazing. I have been scouting out videos to help an acquaintance start her online course. I was overwhelmed in the best of ways by the "free" checklist you offer. Instead of skipping through your videos, I look forward to viewing them to get the information I need. Thank you so much.

I just saw this video and downloaded your checklist. I started my private practice a few months ago and I am feeling overwhelmed with marketing/promoting. I have a website and I am working boosting SEO. I don't know if I need business cards and/or flyers. I just don't know where to invest my energy at this point. I appreciate any and all feedback or questions.

Awesome, could you talk about NO surprises act? Everybody is freaking put right now about what it is, how to implement it in the paper work, etc. Thank you!

This is so validating. I’m in the process of opening my part time PP within the next few weeks. Those roadblocks are a b**** haha!

Do you have videos on first consultation, intake forms, first session?

Thank you for acknowledging the "take your time" and "lean on your support" tips. I was starting my PP before my 9/21 wedding and now I'm in my second trimester of pregnancy and wonder and I'm feeling anxious and self-doubt that it's too late to launch since I'll be obviously taking time off after having my baby. Any tips or insight into if it's too late?

This was extremely helpful! The checklist is so thorough!!! I love your tone as well. I am a part of a very small group practice/nonprofit in Louisiana (many barriers/struggles-the past 3 years major hurricanes and severe weather in addition to covid, that caused SO much)and I want to work toward establishing/maintaining my autonomy, even while being contracted with the group practice. I am struggling with some doubt/confidence and my support is very limited (trying to work on it but it seems that I get more support out of my particular area) Any tips?

Hello! I’ve been in private practice for awhile and I have 2 therapists that work for me. I got lucky with them as they could both start and grow slowly as I got them referrals instead of me having a full caseload already for them. My question is, what is the best way to bring on a new therapist when you don’t have a full caseload for them? I don’t put people on waiting lists simply because I believe that when a client calls for counseling, they need counseling fairly soon. I always offer to hold onto their name or give them other names and numbers of practices in the town. So I get into this dilemma where I can’t hire a new therapist because I don’t have a full caseload and then I can’t build a full caseload when I don’t have a therapist to take it on. What’s the best way to grow? I’ve not had anyone explain it to me besides the method of therapists taking on way too many clients and then transitioning them to a new therapist once one is found and hired. To me, that is poor practice as that client has already built a therapeutic relationship with that initial therapist and handing them off to someone else just seems wrong. I’d love some advice on this!! Thanks!
