I've been working on this in my identical Camry for 3 days, Scotty. I finally figured out how you got the Blower Motor out, but now I see that you also took out the ECM and the AC ducts to get the blower motor out. Mentioning that would've been helpful.

Man I appreciate you man very straight forward with all your videos. The world needs people that already have money and are willing to pass their knowledge to later generations. I learn so much from you without having to trial and error. Thanks Scotty!

Loving it.

Recover the refrigerant from the system.
Remove the engine air inlet tube and the air distribution duct on vehicles equipped with 3.2/3.5 L engine.
Remove one nut to the a/c lines at the expansion valve.
Loosen the bolt at the receiver/drier to pivot the lines away from the expansion valve.
Plug or cap the open end of the refrigerant lines.
Gently pull the a/c line out of the expansion valve.
Remove two #30 torx bolts retaining the expansion valve

@jamiedodd1991 There used to be good ways of testing them, when cars had four test ports. Now they only have two test ports, so it's more of a guess. But normally if the valve goes bad, it creates a restriction and the high side pressure goes really high. Scotty

@starbucksmunky It sprays liquid refrigerant into the Ac evaporator. As that turns the refrigerant into a gas, this absorbs heat from inside the vehicle and cools you down. When the valve sticks, it doesn't spray correctly, and wham, no cold air anymore. Scotty Kilmer

Scotty you rock! Doing on conversion on a 1993 Camry and trying to figure out where the expansion valve is. Your video is spot on!

either compressor is shot and not pumping at all, or the expansion valve is stuck wide open and has no effect on system pressure. Nice explanation. I had EV replaced on 2011 F-150, 5.0L V8 engine. Cost $239 for entire process. Symptoms: when I turned on AC, I heard a clatter of noise that came from underneath the dashboard or behind the glove box. The sound was similar to the sound of when you driver over a fairly large branch on the road that beats up underneath your vehicle. Or sounded like you had a big a$$ rat that had gotten beaten by a spinning cog inside your dash panel (behind the glove box). LoL Funny, (I liked that one.)

Also, the AC blew extremely hot air. almost scalding air into the cab. hwew, that scared the heck out of me. I knew that meant (money to be $pent). Anyways, after seeing all the steps to access the EV, I now understand the high cost to repair. Thanks again. Good video. Thumbs up.

After suffering bad AC for 2 year, until I saw your 4:00 minutes video, I cried, hardly.

it's better to unbolt the inside bolts to get the expansion valve out, I jusst did one yesterday. But if it only bolts on the outside by the engine, you have to remove those and pull the lines off there

@MrSoundQndn It could be a bad expansion valve or an electronic problem in the dash. when it's acting up, put AC gauges on the the system, and if the pressures are too high, replace the valve. Scotty

@Matthew55904 It's the valve that opens and closes to spray refrigerant inside the evaporator core inside the dash. That makes your air cold by absorbing heat from the cabin. Scotty

I like how he fix everything in 4 minutes.

@D12eams Well, there's a lot of levers and switches inside there which control the heat, so pull the radio out and see if you broke or bent something, OR if the radio whacks into a piece so it can't move right now. Scotty

In my 2011 Camry you can do this from under the hood, found out when replacing compressor, condenser, etc... Love your videos!
