"There is not a single crime they would not do there," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said of the Russians who stormed the Kyiv suburb in his opening statements to the United Nations Security Council.

Zelensky, speaking through a translator, said:

"Anyone who served our country was purposely slaughtered by the Russian military surge. They shot and killed women while they attempted to call someone who was still alive outside their homes.
They slaughtered entire families, including adults and children, and attempted to burn the bodies. I'm writing to you on behalf of the people who remember the dead every day, as well as the citizens who were tortured and shot in the back of the head. Some of them were shot while walking along the street."
He claimed that the Russians murdered villagers in Bucha "for their own amusement."

"They severed limbs, slit throats, and raped and murdered mothers in front of their children." Only because the attacker did not hear what they wanted to hear from them did their tongues get pulled out," Zelensky stated.

He claimed that these actions are similar to those of "other terrorists."
