A dandelion can be one of two things, desired by those who view it as a flower, or unwanted to those who view it as a weed. I grew up being infatuated with dandelions, I love them, collecting them as a little 6-7 year old in the school playground, and giving bunches of them to my favourite teachers. I feel much the same for the one(s) that I love, how the world can make someone feel so unwanted but with the right care and through the right eyes, the frail flower can be appreciated and loved.

guys hear me out, the reason grent is standing in a sunflower field instead of dandelions is because it represents the feeling of not being able to be with the one you like. The sunflowers are tall, robust plants with prominent flowers. This can give 2 meanings imo. 1: The sunflowers represent the people around us, they all point towards the same direction (the sun), symbolizing the influence they have to only follow what's considered to be the norm in life. 2: Sunflowers in itself is beautiful, but despite their towering size and identical flowers (because they grow in fields), we tend to search for something distinct and distinguished yet small and fragile, like a dandelion. This aligns with the lyrics, because if grent would want to be with "his dandelion" if he was given a choice.

Plus, we see an insanely enormous dandelion in the end. Dandelions grow as individual flowers that are small and low to the ground, yet the dandelion in the end is gigantic but is still alone. This could be a hyperbolic representation of the person that despite being overshadowed by others, they stand out in the most beautiful way in the eyes of the right person.

Hearing this live when Grant opened for Wallows was literally sooo fun and its such a cute song!! The crowd was feeling Dandelion's vibe and I was too hahha, fr so gooood, i looove it!! I'm so surprised he collabed with Ruel for it, he told us that the song would be done with a tall guy thats name is 4 letters long, so should've knownn loll 😭

Possibly the best song on Grent’s first long play album. Just a hint of a true bridge passage middle (many of his songs are extremely short in the TikTok era with no attempts at a middle 8 or codas), and surprise extremely tasteful muted trumpet element at end, make for a superb song. Buy the album to help him out, don’t just stream for free. What a talent…he even incorporates bossa nova chords and rhythms in his compositions..
