Imagine a peaceful village slapped right in the middle of bandit country, its outskirts ravaged and pillaged yet the closer you head towards a stables, owned by a rather eccentric old druid who loves insects, the more stable, peaceful and eventually untouched the area becomes.
But its not horses this odd druid keeps in their stables... 😊

Like, a whole herd of these beetles are infesting a choke point between two kingdoms, and making war near impossible.
How much gold can your PCs be tempted by to... enable such renewed conflict?

Imagine an kingdom in a war stricken world comes across these creatures and develops gas masks to prevent the pheromones from reaching their soldiers and tames these and brings them to battlefields. The enemy soldiers lose all moral and drive to fight while the soldiers with masks wipe them out and proceed to conquer many other kingdoms with their military superiority.

Putting these in every hospital and clinic around, they'll assist in medical duties with their healing spit and turn the area into a non aggression zone, preventing potentially hostile patients

I had a DM that introduced a weevil farmer, she'd collect and sell their healing spittle and glue to people, we got given a mission where we had to track down and return two weevils that wandered off and got adopted by a warforged Artificer.

Long story short we brought the weevils and the warforged to the farmer and they actually started staying together and working together becoming a farmer/merchant combo.

Many a royal nurseries are said to employee these beetles both to help take care of the children but also to halt any would be assassians.

I can imagine him leading a group of adventures through a hostile forest or even a dungeon. maybe they hire him as help or something, maybe they are aiding him in a way. would be a cool way to go through a dangerous area without any real threat (other than things that may be immune)
