What is sadder than the circumstances that makes oneself question their own divinity. Thinking of the circumstances that must have befallen Malerie to make him reach such a state, makes me tear up.

This excerpt from The Fountainhead audiobook from Ayn Rand, captures how false sincerity has destroyed the spirit of Malerie — and then how Roark, one of the only testaments to the human spirit left, through his relentless sincerity, is able to bring Malerie's disaffirmed fire back to an integral blaze. If you've ever had your worth established by the faultering words of others, and suffered the inflictions due to the doubt it causes, rather than establishig your worth soley by your grace, this may hit you hard.

The book is one of the best testimonies of the human spirit, and the everyday and lifelong struggles one faces to remain integral to their spirit.

I prefer audiobooks, as often I cannot do the correct inflections of tone, and as my work requires sitting, with an audiobook I can read while not sitting. However the book is available anywhere you choose.
