Who knows what is ahead but to be honest with themsellves (the Fever and the WNBA) that if they were treated, comp we sated and protected as poorly as CC was should they be surprised ???? CC either directly or indirectly made A LOT of people, probably hundreds of $M through ticket sales, TV viewership and TV contract extensions, merch sales, etc. The League itself spent the year ignoring the tragically poor refereeing, the obvious on the court targeting she received, and overall the miserable job they did holding back on marketing CC in fear they might be criticized giving credit to the white girl for raising up the league's popularity. Overall, their amateurish style pretty much sent the message that CC was not truly appreciated and respected, and she needed to controlling her own future. If the chatter obout her leaving the W is real and she is able to jump next year they might as well keep the same coach, forget about signing any max free agents and get back on the track of playing for future #1's. Heck, they might not be as good as they were in 2023 if she leaves !!!
