APPALACHIAN TRAIL | Ep 4 | Our First Ever Trail Magic & Epic Views

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY STILL IN SELF ISOLATION BACK IN AUSTRALIA.

This is day 4 & 5 of our thru-hike along the Appalachian Trail. We start the morning at Gooch Mountain Shelter (mile 15.7). We had a gorgeous morning full of sunshine and experienced our first TRAIL MAGIC. We also get our first full open view of the gorgeous Georgian mountains. Our hike today was filled with day hikers (it’s Saturday), so we didn’t get to do heaps of filming out of Woody Hap because it was extremely busy! We had a very cold night at Lance Creek Campsite (mile 24) but slept quite well.

Day 5 will take us over the highest mountain in Georgia- Blood Mountain. We end the video at Slaughter Creek (mile 28) before the ascent.

We’re Scott & Lauren, a couple from Melbourne in Australia!

Our passion for travelling, backpacking and hiking started back in July of 2017 when we headed off to Europe for a 6-month backpacking trip, which would ultimately change our lives. After returning in January 2018, the "standard" post-travel emotions hit.

We both decided we would knuckle down and try and save as much money as possible before jetting off again to see more of this beautiful world.

I really enjoyed your video. Very good filming. Great commentary and attitude. I hope you will get another chance to hike the trail. I certainly would follow your hike. Perhaps you could do a video of how you are doing back in Australia. Best wishes and stay healthy.

This section is one of my favorites in Georgia. When you finally hit Ramrock Mountain, is awesome to catch that view. Preachers Rock is also one of my favorite overlooks in Georgia. Thanks for sharing! Just subbed!

Sick views! Those clouds being so flat make it look sweet too. 4:18 is that a pretty easily accessible day hike spot too? Surprised to see Fido there!
