Although I would have picked a different guitarist, you can't knock Yngwie's abilities.

I was actually impressed with Ronnie's voice with this (the way it goes with it). I love RJD! And he always impressed me when he took on songs that you'd think no Metal artist should try to do. But then, let's remember that Ronnie started out in the 50's as a Doo-Wop style singer and had a band then and he did actually have a good "regular music" voice. I have his first album from back then, so I can vouch for that.

But what I didn't like, was the parts where Dio & Tyler sang together. Not only were their voices incompatible (to me at least), but they weren't even on the same word at the same time.

I really could go for a version of this with just Ronnie on vocals and a bit more "Metal" flavor to the guitar. Not "go crazy Metal guitar". Just a Metal flavor to it, with maybe a bit of a Bluesy feel to it, since before the "Pump", etc., days, that's what Aerosmith 100% was. A Blues-Rock band. And Dream On was written during that time.

Hey! I have an idea!!! RJD on Vocals and Gary Moore on Guitar! Not from his Hard Rock days, but from after he went back to playing the Blues, which still had a bit of a Rock feel. His Blues work was mind blowing! Go check out one of his live Blues videos. He's best known for "Parisenne Walkways", although that's a slower one. But there's plenty here on YT of him. I would love to hear that one!!! 👍
