Pen Air Credit Union's Guiding Principles

Let’s just state the obvious.

A family is not a mortgage.
Just as a person is not a credit card.
Or a small business is not a checking account.

Of course not. People are defined by who they are, not by the banking
they use.

And who you are, is the sum of what matters most to you. Your values,
your purpose — the reason why you work so hard to build what’s most
important.

The same is true for us. We are Pen Air Credit Union. And for
generations, we’ve been a community resource for banking — services
like mortgages, credit cards and checking accounts.

But those services are not who we are. Not at all. The reason we exist is
so much simpler — and so much more powerful.

Our purpose… is to enhance lives.

With that clarity, what we do is made more powerful by our purpose for
doing it.

It’s a purpose that grew from the values we hold most dear. Three
principles that shape how we see the people we serve, the community
around us, and our role within it.

And third, we value Communerosity.
Webster's Dictionary defines “Communerosity” as… just kidding. To
Webster, communerosity is not a word. But to us, it’s our most
important value. A positive force for good, where community and
generosity fuse into something unshakable.

Respect. Service. Communerosity. These three values guide us in all
that we do. They fuel our purpose to enhance lives.
