Aircraft Flight Mechanics M4L05 - Lets characterise some motion

We'll spend all of Module 5 characterising the motion for Longitudinal and Lateral motion, but before we get there we can use some smarty-pants mathematics to show that longitudinal motion comprises two osciallatory modes.


We'll talk much more about the short period mode and the Phugoid mode in lectures to come, don't worry - but for now we can loosely talk about them and how to understand which is which from the data.


This also contains a bit of revision of system stability...because I know that *I* couldn't remember my third year classes by the time I got ot fourth year myself.
