My familiar Dream (1866)
(Poèmes Saturniens: Mélancholia VI)

I often have this strange, engrossing dream
of an unknown woman, whom I love and who loves me,
and who, each time, is never quite the same
nor completely another, and who loves and understands.

For she understands me; my heart, an open book
to her alone (alas), is no longer a problem,
at least not to her; and when my pale brow is clammy
she alone knows how to refresh it, with her tears.

Is she brunette, blonde or redheaded? I don't know.
Her name? I recall that it's sweet and sonorous
like the names of lovers whom Life sent into exile.

Her gaze is like the gaze of a statue,
and her voice - her distant, calm deep voice -
has the inflection of beloved voices that have fallen silent

A work of beauty in all ways: color, camera, music, text, visuals. Thank you.I agree with the others---a masterpiece.

Un poème magnifique et magnifié ici, et avec quel talent....
Une adéquation rare entre la forme, le fond, la musique. Un puzzle poignant....

God this is beautiful Tutsy!!!! I love the echo in the poem. I had thought of doing that in one of mine, only because I opened a machinima in SL and then in my browser, and found the effect (accidental) so magical that I wanted to reproduce it. As you know, I love every one of your films. The text is beautifully incorporated, but as Cecil said, hard to read. This wouldn't be a problem if it was all in French, but we're required to make it available to English speakers. A pity.

Oh Tutsy, if I had said this poem to my teacher like you do, I would have been the best pupil in my school !
This is an wonderful machinima, extremely close to the spirit of this poem, and making honour to French Culture.
Bravo Tutsy ! When the next one ? :-)

Love the visual aesthetics and artistic intent. One of the best machinima "paintings" I've seen in a while. Congrats. I would only say that the text competed too much with the rich visuals to read. Find a way to blend the text better. :)

@CecilHirvi: Thanks for your comments, about the text i agree with what you say, its an esthetic choice.
Because i think to fully appreciate a poem should read it several times :-)
