Nice one! Two hints for you (or any reader): 1. Don't edit the sudoers file directly! Run visudo instead (which in addition to sanity checking the file before saving has the benefit of knowing the right location on both Linux (/etc) and FreeBSD (/usr/local/etc). 2. For editing rc.conf have a look at sysrc(8): "sysrc dbus_enable=YES" is much nicer to do than having to fire up an editor. It can be used for other files like loader.conf, too, if "-f FILENAME" is given.

I have an AMD 6700 video card. I did everything what you show us, but I use Gnome desktop. The card is working almost properly, but... My monitor max resolution is 3440 × 1440 but the driver can only 2560x1080 and the refresh not setable. I use a Debian 12 with Gonome desktop on this machine and it can use the resolution 3440 × 1440 with 144 Hz refresh rate. Can you help me?

Does FreeBSD support KVM vfio / gpu passthrough for virtual machines?

I can't adjust the resolution of my monitor. It is a Dell with integrated Intel graphics and with an nvidia quadro card. I would appreciate if you could guide me.

The installation was slow because it was downloading the packages from community founded servers. The community is much smaller than Linux's. They accept donations and all goes to infrastructure, though.

Also, LightDM goes way better with Xfce than GDM.

Wish I could use FreeBSD for daily use, too bad a lot of my day-to-day software just isn't properly (or at all) supported.

Oh nice ! AMD GPUs are getting support. I thought Nvidia has the support. :)
