How do the tour pros get that signature shaft lean at impact? Well you might be surprised to find out it's not simply by having the hands forward or driving the handle to the target. Let's look at a more reliable and proven way to strike it.

Yourself demonstrating the wrong way is not correct ! I mean that’s what I do! I’m just joking, it’s funny seeing prople with good swings trying to do it wrong, they find it just as difficult as us trying to do it right .

The final piece in me achieving this(thanks in part to milos great videos) was loading and releasing my forearms. If like Milo you have done a lot of baseball batting you probably do this naturally already and just do as in this great video.

Milo! I'm going to head back out to visit soon! In the mean time, can you do a video on how to stay centered in the golf swing? When I watch your swing, your head stays perfectly centered (front view). I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to pivot with my head centered and not feel like i'm falling backwards.

Where are your hands(handle) in relation to the center of your chest at impact? Is it to the left, right or on center?

Is there something to be said for avoiding shaft lean at address? A lot of good players start with their hands mid-body, and often, in the case of the driver, the shaft leaning away from the ball. My thought is that the shaft has lean at impact in relationship to the degree of "open-ness" of the body courtesy of the pivot. Shaft lean at at address move the plane of the swing way out to the right, such that it may impede your best efforts to pivot well. Forward hands at address is a good way to get the club moving inside too much, too quickly. Leaning the shaft forward at address may encourage the pelvis-slide. If you lean the shaft relative to the swing direction (a function of the pivot) then it avoids the exaggerated hands ahead look demonstrated by YouTube gurus, not named Milo!) Shaft lean has sent many promising players down a dark path!

A way I've found to do this is think about the hands having to move in an arc as the body rotates. Too many golfers think they should swing the handle straight down the target line. Swinging the hands and handle to the left (right hand golfers) is the key for me. It also results in more club head lagging behind the handle. Turning the corner in other words.

Usually you'd set up with the shaft off your lead leg. You'd then be creating good setup conditions to create a good strike.

I recognize all those flaws and the dodge ball! For any other viewers - Milo fixed this swing flaw for me while I was out working with him two weeks ago.

Hey Milo, when I try to rotate well I end up looking like a ballerina at impact with my right heel way off the ground. It’s like my hips get to 45 deg open way too soon. However I am afraid to allow my arms to drive ahead as we are flooded with ‘passive arm’ coaching. Any thoughts? Thanks

Could you explain the comment at 1:06 please...making contact off our right leg.
It seems good players are driving off that trail leg at impact. Is "off" mean it happened too early?
You make a good point about shaft lean and the lead hip clearing around the corner...around the corner gives the shaft lean...
A bell went off with me....thanks.

Hi Milo love the videos, was wondering if you could do an in depth video about the sit(squat) in the downswing, I'm having a real hard time understanding when or how to turn while sitting down in transition. I can get the squat but end up jumping too much I guess and hit wild hooks and the ball is sky high.. it is going pretty far tho lol.

Hi Milo, if I add an alignment rod to the shaft for the turn through drill, can you hit full shots doing that or is is just foundation drill 1 & 2?

Literally one of the best teachers of swing mechanics. Your towing the club head video could be a Hall of Fame teaching moment! I think it’s important to know what your doing as opposed to what you should do in the golf swing. Great videos!
