Egg wash tends to make chicken less crispy, so I just marinade and then flour the chicken. Because egg makes chicken soggy and the breading also tends to fall off. Omit the egg, it even tastes better without the egg! That's how my Momma always did it! And, you'll be surprised how much crispier the chicken gets. I would eat anything Paula Deen cooks!!!!

I remember my Mother in law cooking 2 or 3 chickens on Sunday after church after she cut them up herself. What a time saver that would have been for her. I do not know how she did it. She loved to have company over on Sunday.

Youre so cute! But Sorry to say, my dear sweet Paula, if you sprayed that chicken 4 or 5 times with the long saturating sprays you use, You basically DID DROP IT IN GREASE to fry it. Yes, Paula you are absolutely right that IT IS spraying the chicken with grease/spray oil that makes chicken made in the air fryer seem like it was fried, But, Honey, lets be honest, IF you spray it that much you might as well fry it. ★ For many years I watched every Paula Deen show I could find. I could always count on each show being both fun and funny, very entertaining, always would have a great recipe and just make me happy. Yes, this video is STILL Paula Deen but an older, slower, not quite so quick thinking Paula Deen. But, hey, time catches up to the best of us. No one escapes it. While this video originally aired 4 years ago, and Paula had a little extra help,
I soooo am glad to see them still being shown. Southern cooking IS A GENUINE MUST for many. Others do it but, with love and respect, Paula will likely remain the Queen!
