Holy Spirit leads us into all truth . Much is actually literal as well as pictorial . Blessings young man as iron sharpens iron . We are literally seeing all the signs being fulfilled right before our very eyes . Knowledge has increased and people are running to and fro throughout all the earth .

You read the olivette discourse, but forgot the other parallel passages, the 6th seal events in Revalation 6 and 12, and Joel describes the cosmic events at the time of the Rapture.

I personally feel that because of the repetition, this describes a VERY LITERAL event that will ROCK the world very soon.

Not everything in prophecy is figurative.

We know now why for some reading the bible is kind of a stumbling block because its read not in the spirit in christ but read just by one's mind. I say now after receiving knowledge from Christ, which I'm still learning and busy at, that the bible has a lot of Poetic Imagery and the truth is there for those who seek it. God bless you brother.

Prophecy must be full filled! Some have already started up, we will really see even more 2025, out on the Armor of God, get your relationship with the Lord and strengthen it daily, stock your homes so you can get thru what’s coming, doesn’t mean we won’t struggle but can get thru it holding strong and not left like the 6 virgins who wasn’t prepared for the Groom.

23:00—Brother, the moon and the sun are visible and affected by every person on the earth, not just Jerusalem. I don’t believe that this description is intended to be ‘figurative’ but quite literal.

But we did see these things happen in Egypt. Fire from heaven fell, went Dark.. I get your point but don't discount physical signs.

In many prophecies there is a dual fulfillment. Neither Preterists nor Futurists seem to understand this. Some things prophesied in Matt. 24 and 25 were to take place in the near future, in THAT generation. Jesus was crucified somewhere in the 30's AD and Jerusalem was indeed destroyed by 70 AD.

However, when Jesus said that "THIS generation" in Matt. 24:34, He did not mean "THAT generation" living at that time. Notice the words a few verses before: "So likewise ye [whoever the 'ye' will be when these things happen], when ye shall see ALL THESE THINGS, know that it is near, even at the doors" (Verse 33).

WHAT "all THESE things?" Why all the things that he mentioned leading up to this point. And included are the "Sign of the Son of man in heaven, " and the resurrection and gathering of the saints, etc. (Verse 30). Now THAT did not happen back in the first century AD. It is yet future. But the future generation who sees "ALL these things, " that generation living at THAT time, shall not pass untill all these things be fulfilled, including the coming of our Lord.

I appreciate your alternative view of these passages. While I only agree in part, as far as biblical precedent goes. The end times and the 70th week of Daniel is yet future. There is a reason God has brought the Jews back to Israel to finish His work and fulfill prophecy.
Remember also tribulation is for all believers but the wrath of God poured out during the last 7 years is punishment for unbelievers.

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 
2Pe 3:11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  
2Pe 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 
2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 

Not global but Universal destruction with New Heavens and New Earth replacing it.

With this prophecy of the destruction of Babylon, God also, was referencing the future destruction of the whole earth, that will be fulfilled at the end of days. Mystery Babylon is mentioned in Revelations as mirroring that old Babylon that God destroyed. It is amazing and fearful too.

The significance and of end times is that the gospel has gone out TO EVERY NATION, making the area of significance that is called “the whole world” to be EVERY NATION that has rejected God.

I believe that is why the last time judgment comes is unlike that of any other, as scripture mentions it will be. Since the gospel has come to every nation and if you look at the language used that specifically does refer to end times, it says nations (plural).


““And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of *nations, * with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.””

None of the past judgments upon Israel or any other nation of ancient times can compare because they did not have global powers like we have today and the gospel had not come to every nation. That is why it is prophesied to be different with the feet mixed with clay and iron the last time the cycle of judgement comes to pass (each part of the statue represents a nation and the abomination that causes desolation for that dynasty. You see the gold head played out in Daniel 3. The Apostle John said many Antichrists have already come.)
