One thing that you didn't mention is that shields decay based off the shielded character's turns, not the shielding character's. Which means that it's really difficult to use preservation sustains with fast hypercarry teams (except Fuxuan, but she's basically a hybrid abundance x preservation unit). You have these really fast hunt characters attacking again and again - their actions being advanced by their speed, talents, and Bronya and Sparkle... until the shield just falls off them before the enemy even gets a turn. Then when it's the enemy's turn, they have no shield and get deleted instantly.
Aventurine sort of gets past this by gaining a point of his talent when allies use FuA, but not every hypercarry character *has* a FuA. Characters like Seele, Firefly, Jingliu, Boothill, and Argenti all play into the fast hypercarry meta while having no FuA. I learned the hard way that my babygirl Aventurine is useless with these characters. So while I am an avid believer that preventing damage is better than curing it, abundance (and Fuxuan) are by far the better choice for these teams.

Both of these archetype can change depend on how they tune the content around. There might be enemies that don't care about shield since it's too strong right now, and there might be relic set that can give you more max HP base on the over heal value, so basically increase in the sustain for healer.
Right now shield has more value because it does more in the sustain, when all healers can struggle right now but Lingsha specifically is not having much of that problem, because she can heal in the enemy turn with the follow up, which reduce a bit more of that one shot situation. So in term of value, Lingsha unironically has more imo, because she reduce that one shot problem other healers have, but also have the potential to get buffed by being a healer, while Aventurine will have a chance to get counter by future enemies that ignore shield instead. Hell, or they're gonna buff both, who know.

Thank you for this video! I pulled for Feixiao in this patch and I was considering between Lingsha or Topaz & Adventurine, as these two are said to be her strongest allies. Honestly it's still hard to make the decision, but I feel like I should prioritize Lingsha over these two, even for my Feixiao team. I still hope to be blessed with luck and maybe get two of these three characters but we never know...

I usually just borrowed my friend's Aventurine which is E6S5. 😅

But he still has a problem, Aventurine doesn't have an emergency healing like Fu Xuan, once the shield broke you just have to pray that the enemy doesn't attacks your DPS/Support to death before Aventurine restack his shield back.

I personally don't like Aventurine so even though he's the only character left to complete the optimal FuA team in my account, so I might be pulling for Lingsha. OR wait for a suitable alternative new sustain down the line, which I expect to happen eventually since Hoyo has a habit of churning out characters that has overlapping kits anyway. I have FX, Luocha, and Huohuo anyway so I'm not hungry for a another "meta" sustain right now.
