I got IIT this year for my master's and let me tell you I am really happy and excited. I know maximum who is serious for gate belongs to mediocre colleges and want to get to IITs and NITs. Guys job toh lifetime karni hai but padhai sirf ek baar. Kyu na best jagah se kare. Lifetime tag of IIT. Their are ample opportunities you will get when u step inside an IIT.
Don't just think about any rubbish thoughts. Few months are left so jaan laga do ya jaane do ✌️

Dear GATE Aspirants if you want to just get some motivation then just search for Placement stats of M.Techs in top IIT. You will get your answers, This is just an excuse to leave out your dreams. This guy is giving his views based on his conversation with a single Guy from IIT KGP. If you actually want to know what happens talk to a lot of seniors from IISC, IIT Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur and other IITs you will get your answers.

Brother just to confirm you that the boy named Rohit Negi who has got the highest placement(2.05cr) from IIT Guwahati from Uber international was from tire 3 college. He cracked the GATE exam and he got the highest placement above the so-called JEE craked Btech student.

I don't know what kind of students he was taking about. I am gate qualified and bagged AIR 600. I did get placed in my BTech but it wasn't what I was expecting coming from 3rd tier college we didn't had opportunities of FAANG. I gave gate to get that opportunity and got it as well and most of us give gate to get that opportunity.

I realised something, no matter what happens, you can't relay on any institute or placement companies for our goalscorer . Just follow your heart and your interest and then see the magic.

If you are really preparing for GATE then don't listen to such illogical videos. My points

1. If you are cracking GATE that implies you have very good knowledge of Computer Science subjects, whereas if you have cracked JEE it says that you are good in maths, physics, and chemistry. GATE subjects are more relevant for your placements than chemistry.

2. "The boy cracking JEE is more intelligent than a boy Cracked GATE" doesn't make sense. as per my experience if you are not that good in physics and chemistry it doesn't mean you are bad in computer science.

3. "Don't write GATE to avoid placements" really?? If you are a GATE topper that obviously means you are good enough to get a good job.

4. "interviewer asks why you not placed in Btech" answer is because I haven't tried. I want a big product-based company that I can get easily from IITs(even some students don't deserve it).

Whatever My message is don't gets demotivated. There are many more videos out there, don't waste your time here. Thank you.

Firstly note that to crack GATE it is not that easy. Anyone has to be fully devoted.

Most of the companies visiting iits and nits have separate vacancies for graduate as well as post graduate students so it is not always you have to compete with btech students. Even mtech mechanical guys get placed into software companies!

Just check placements for all IITs on their respective websites. At every IIT college, most of the M Tech Admitted Students got placed. Above 90% out of the total admitted students.

The motivation behind the video maybe right but it lacks quite some perspective.
Ofcourse getting into IITs doesn't guarantee anything. You should get into IITs for the opportunities, environment and excellent peers you will meet there.
Ofcourse you will have to compete against BTech guys, but you will be competing for better positions also.
I cherish my MTECH days at IIT and would anyday advice for it unless one is damn sure of what they want to do.

Not having a backup plan is worst mistake...I was preparing for 2021 from July 2020 I was too much confident about it so I refuse to sit for all my on-campus as well as off campus placements and after gate result my whole world turns upside down after the huge failure I didn't have any backup that time I don't know what to do know, then after 8 months I sat for my first placement and till this week got rejected from 9 companies and finally placed in Indian MNC

Regarding placement and package, no college guaranties a good package... One of my cousin has completed his b tech from IIT patna in cse and still he is placed at 11lpa which is very low as compared to the college he was studying... I have seen tier 2, 3 guys getting placed at 15lpa+ it's not too rare to see them... So it's not college that gives placement it's your hardwork that lands you a job.. And IIT's will provide us those opportunities so it's totally worth it to go for m tech
