In the US, the first 911 call was made in Haleyville Alabama in 1968 by Alabama Speaker of the House, Rankin Fite.

There was no 911 in 1954. You would have called the operator (that would be a zero) and ask for police or an ambulance.
That bruise looks nasty. I can't imagine being hit by an over 8lb rock. She's lucky no bones were broken on her hip

Sorry to let you know, there wasn't any 911
Operators to answer her call, as people dialed (rotary phone)
0 to reach an operator.

She was not "unlucky" she was truly blessed - she lived to tell the story!

The 911 system didn't exist in 1954, people could dial 0 and tell a switch board operator what emergency service they needed. Some Phonebooks would have the police, fire, and ambulance numbers printed on the first page

you mean they called the operator and asked for the police, 911 wasn’t set up until the 1980’s I was there lol.

That is one huge error – nobody and I mean NOBODY dialed 911 in 1954. They would’ve dialed the operator who would have then connected them to the local sheriff. 911 did not exist in 1954.

I was born in 1954. Are you sure there was 911 back then?

Why would the Air Force or the government in any way think they have a right to whatever comes out of the sky?

The fact she got struck by a meteorite and survived and also got her 15 minutes of fame she doesn't seem to unlucky to me meaning that sounds like she's the luckiest person alive

I'm pretty sure "911" did not exist in 1954. It was 1958. But your story is good history all the same.

I personally do not remember that there was such a Phone Number of “9-1-1”, but only “ 0 “, to be connected with an operator.
