Actually Farina is the original "inventor" of the Eau de Cologne in 1709...
while 4711 is just a clone :-)

They also have amazing and affordable Russian Leather cologne. Going back to 1920s, very classic smelling, right up your alley.

I love 4711. So many Citrus-Neroli based scents are redundant. The eau de colognes don't last but I still love them. Ferrari Bright Neroli seems to be the best bang/buck fragrance in this genre with good longevity.

Try Jeanne Provence - Neroli Intense. Long lasting 4711 and it doesn't smell synthetic. A really great cheapie

This French brand Roger et Gallet (very old and now owned by L'Oréal) makes the same original Farina Eau de Cologne :

But Chanel Eau de Cologne in their exclusive line smells much better.
