i have been playing around with cannons on some of my ships too. putting large ones on a chieftain and krait, they are so satisfying to use when you just blow out someone's power plant in 1 shot but they just dont have any range - i tried long range and that helps but then you are missing out on damage you might get from overcharged. im not a great pilot and i use gimbals (but because i use large cannons there is normally enough damage to not need fixed) and for that matter its hard to justify using the mover multis because at the right angle you will rip a power plant with them also but the satisfaction you can get when you take a large or medium ships shields down then kill them in 1 pull of the trigger is unmatched.
