there are no alawites in turkey. there are alevis, who are a branch of twelver shiism. My father comes from an alevi background and has no recollection of alevis worshipping ali. He was even shocked when i told him such people existed. Please do not confuse the alevis and the alawites

There are no Alawites in Turkey. There are Alevi which is somewhat Shia Islam mixed with Tengrism and closer to Sufism. Alawites are something completely different and aren't related whatsoever.
