NOTES:
[1] China is an interesting case. Although it's not a direct division of China, instead it's a geopolitical situation where two political entities exist under the name "China". However, I still included this as this issue still falls under global communist and non-communist divide.
[2] Austria was never formally divided, but I included it in this video as Austria was still partitioned into occupied zones for a decade before securing its independence.
[3] Japan was never formally divided as well, but I included a plan to divide Japan after WW2, just like Germany, essentially putting this section under alternate history.
[4] Trieste is not a country, but it's an entitity divided between Italian and Yugoslav zone, and I still consider it as Cold War-related division.
[5] India was partitioned during the Cold War. Cyprus was divided betwen four entities, and the division also happened during the Cold War. Ireland wasn't divided during the Cold War but a significant event known as "The Troubles" occurred during the Cold War, and the division of Ireland is significant nonetheless. Like with Austria, Libya was occupied by two different powers, so I believe that also counts.
