How to Translate Creative Commons Deeds

Whereas the 4.0 licenses are translated offline, by teams from each country, the “deeds” (human-readable versions of licenses) are translated online, with Transifex. Here is the process.
If you were invited to join a CC translation team on Transifex, you should have received an email with a link to set up your account. Click on the link, then complete the signup form and click Create my account. After creating your account, you’ll be automatically taken to the page of the team that you were invited to.
If asked to activate your account, check your email for the activation link and click on it.
On the first page of the welcome page, fill in your name and select Localization as your department and Translator as your job title. The “Join an existing project” option will be pre-selected for you. Hit Next again.
Finally, choose which languages you speak. When you’re ready, click Get Started.
Choose Join an existing organization and search for Creative Commons. Choose Creative Commons - Share, Remix, Reuse — Legally (Organization: Creative Commons).
Go to the Creative Commons project on Transifex, click Join team and choose the language you wish to translate into. The administrator will approve your request.
If a team already exists for the language that interests you, then click on that language and then click the Join team button. If a team doesn't yet exist for the language that interests you then simply click Request language.
Login to Transifex and go to your language. Choose whether you want to translate CC Search or the Deeds & Choosers.
Click on Translate. Go to the Untranslated tab and start translating. When you finish, click Save all.
You can also review the translations made by your team members. Click on Unreviewed and start reviewing. Don’t forget to add suggestions by clicking on the corresponding button next to the translation.
Remember! You only have to translate the language and preserve the formatting or other code that you may find in the original string. So, don’t touch the HTML code!
The translated strings are pushed on the live Creative Commons website once a week.
