This is a song I wrote for my dog "Keys" who got diagnosed with Lymphoma. He passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. You can purchase the song on iTunes or stream on Spotify, from my album "Depending on the Weather"- Frankly Speaking

grieving a dead pet gets easier in time but every now and then you'll look at a spot they used to lay and memories of their funny smile or them running on the grass comes flooding back. how you used to yell their name and they'd wag their tail in excitement. how you'd come home to them waiting eagerly for you, not an empty house. they were a part of the family and they always will be, whether they're here or not. i hope we'll all see our furry friends again.

My boy died last night, I found him when he was a puppy. 13 1/2 years of pure joy, last night he died in bed surrounded by his favorite people and friends.

I lost my Beauty today, my sweet old 12-year-old pup today. She was the sweetest Dog you'd ever meet. I still remember when I was little and my Dad, me, and brothers went to pick her up. She was a rescue dog and was loved dearly by my family and me. I'm only 20, she is my fourth dog to pass, but she is my first dog to pass peacefully from old age. I was lying next to her earlier today, playing this song and crying. She'd lay her head by me to try to comfort me. Man, I hope God takes dogs home to Heaven!

Just put my girl down this morning. They can't tell us when they're hurting - it's up to us to know when to let them go. We signed up for the hardest days of our lives when we took on the responsibility. That's part of the deal. Thank you sweet girl for everything, I know you're belly up in freshly cut grass enjoying the sunshine again.

We just put down my sweet girl this last weekend. She was 14. Had an in house euthansia so she could feel safe and comfortable with her family. Let me tell you I was not ready for it at all. I don't think anything can prepare you to lose not just a pet, but a family member and most importantly a friend. She was my very best friend and it took her being gone to realize that. Cherish your fur babies because to them, you are their whole life <3
