Port Forwarding for Hikvision Cameras for remote connection.

In this video, I explain how to set up Port Forwarding for Hikvision cameras to allow remote connection via a mobile phone or laptop on the Internet.

The process is very simple; you just need to change the camera's logical port number and create rules in the local router.

I show a practical example of Port forwarding for a Hikvision camera and a quick example of the setup of an Axis camera (Bonus).

I want to ask you. I have set up Hikvision on the machine and it is connected to my wifi wirelessly, so I can watch and control it, but it cannot be used when I change it to another vlan (I have opened all vlans in the network switch)

For some reason this doesnt seem to work. I can connect to it with port 8081 however through external IP id doesnt seem to work. I have setup port forwarding too.

Hello. I have a Hikvision DVR and have cameras all connected. I had to upgrade to a new ISP router. I have done the Port-Forwarding and matched the same configuration from the old router but I am unable view the camera remotely from my Mobile Phone using the Apps. I do have a static IP for the router aswell. I have kept all the IP configuration same on the HikVision DVR and ports the same on the new router.
Any suggestions?

Hey man can you do a video on connecting my router to my HIK camera. Then using that log on info to access the app? I can’t find out why my admin and password under the DDNS in basic settings iN HIK doesn’t change when I physically change it. It remains even though it says saved success. But then it says server connection failed
