Why is everything SO EXPENSIVE?

As Milton Friedman said, inflation is always, and everywhere, a monetary phenomenon. It comes about because money is created out of thin air.

This is an experiment that's only a hundred years old, and it needs to be stopped. There are alternatives to that, and the market can decide on this price. So if you're wondering why prices are so high, it's the Federal Reserve.

This is 100% true. Years ago I asked my economics professor (who used to work for the federal reserve) what the difference is between price controls and the fed monitoring interest rates- Why is rent control generally considered bad but the fed generally considered good? He genuinely told me he had no answer for me and couldn't figure that out. I never got an answer. I wasn't trying to stump him, I was genuinely racking my brain over it

Idk 5-10% inflation still doesn't make sense for item to be up 2-300%. I feel like the big companies got away with price gouging and noone ever did anything about it so they keep doing it more and will continue to do it u til someone puts a stop to it. The rich keep getting richer even while the economy keeps doing worst.

The federal reserve isn't the one responsible for the increasing divide between productivity and median wages.

Fiat currency isn't responsible for a small number of real estate companies throttling the real estate market, and only developing rental properties.

Keynesian economics isn't responsible for disparate treatment between small businesses and massive corporations.
