I heard a pastor point out that technically all of our sins were "future" since we were born AFTER Jesus was crucified.

"provision" is the key word. Dr. Brown got it right. May God pour out on him heavenly blessings and many more!

“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you *ALL* trespasses;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All means all. When we put our faith in Christ to save us we are forgiven of all sins. Past, present and future. Now this does not mean we get to go live a wicked evil sinful life. Because if we choose that and go live in the flesh God will punish us here on this earth. By either killing us and just taking us to heaven or destroying our fleshly lives. I believe a Christian needs to turn from sin after salvation constantly to stay in right fellowship with God. NOT TO BE SAVED.

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He makes a distinction between hyper grace teaching and reformed theology. Good job !

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, (Rom. 3:25)
But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. (2 Pet. 1:9)
Nowhere in the Holy Scriptures does it use the word "future." If we sin from human weakness, we go to Jesus to ask for forgiveness as it says in 1 John 2:1-2, and we should never deliberately sin. God is patient with us, and he knows it takes time to grow to maturity in Christ. May our Lord Jesus return soon.

He forgives us for all time when we're saved (born again). The fact that you said "...when you get SAVED" should say it all, Dr. Brown! SAVED = SAFE for eternity, therefore ALL sin is washed from us by the Blood of Jesus forever, the moment one becomes Born of that incorruptible, Holy Spirit Seed of God, we inherit the perfect work Jesus performed on that cross! We are crucified with Christ, One with Him in Spirit forevermore!

Of course the *flesh* is still here and we reap what we sow in this flesh, even though the *HEART* within us is Holy, blameless and thus without sin. The flesh is that which needs daily renewal (our minds), but the Heart is PERFECT and BLAMELESS! Totally forgiven!

Jude 1:24 -- "Now unto *Him* that is able to *keep you from falling, and to present you faultless* before the presence of *His* glory with exceeding joy, "

Amen.

Huh? But the Bible tells us to forgive OTHERS as God has FORGIVEN us. Forgiven is past tense… so if a guy slaps me in the face right now and dies from a car accident, he never got to ask for forgiveness from me, but according to the Bible if a man wrongs me, I must forgive 70x7, I believe whether he asks for forgiveness or not.

Sin, from Hebrews is the transgression of the Law. A christian is not under the Mosaic Law anymore so where there is no Law there is not sin. However, unrighteous acts can continue after being born again since we still have to deal with our mind, emotions, and will which are corrupted by our past transgression, grace covered those acts and Jesus expect us to turn away from them for Him to cleanse us. The Father prunes us as we produce fruit so that we produce more fruit, this process continues until we die but we should have grown in Love during our life time if we have been obedient to Jesus’s words.

We wouldn't be able to remember every sin we commit after we are saved and forgiven when we receive Christ's forgiveness and then we are saved. There will be many sins we forgot and don't even know we committed because we are only human and we wouldn't be able to remember and be aware of every single sin after we are saved.

We can pray generally for any sins we have forgotten or didn't even realize we committed. And another thing is that, we confess our sins. We don't ask Jesus to forgive us each time we sin. We confess we sinned and the forgiveness comes upon our confessing of our sins.

We would spend our whole lives in prayer confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness of each and every sin, and it would be hard for us to come up for air, if we needed to confess every single sin and ask for forgiveness for every single sin after we have been saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit.

That's how I look at it. And of course we will continue to confess our sins, in order that we keep close to the Lord Jesus and leaning on the Lord Jesus and growing in the Lord Jesus, while we are on earth doing the work He gave each of us to do.

So Jesus paid for our future sins, but didn't forgive them when we believed... foolishness. Praise God for His hyper grace!

It’s not about asking God to forgive us for our sins tomorrow or next year… it’s about His payment/sacrifice covering all our sins at the cross. And we as believers do still ask for forgiveness for sins that hinder our relationship with Him.. we also have the Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin….I’m not hyper grace. I do believe in Eternal security tho.

Good point Dr. Brown also 1st John 2:1 says "IFWE SIN" we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. If we sin is IF & when is all future sins.

This is the best explanation ever!!!! Our sins are PAID for but not FORGIVEN until we confess and ask for forgiveness. This makes it clear that we are held accountable to The Most High God in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior to show that His sacrifice was not in vain!!!

First John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD. Colossians 2:13. He has forgiven us all trespasses. Romans 4:5-8. But to Him that worketh not, but BEIEVETH on Him who JUSTIFIETH the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for His perfect righteousness.

First John 1:8. If we say we have no sin, we are DECEIVED, and the TRUTH is not in us. Self righteousness is not Gods perfect righteousness.

The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4. That Christ died for our sin, according to the scriptures. That He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures.

Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to EVERYONE that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Galatians 1:6-9 Though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received from us, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.

Romans 6:23. For the penalty for sin is death, physical death, BUT, THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We can be chastened by the Lord, for living in those sins named in Colossians 3:5-6, but we can never be condemned. John 3:18. John 6:47. Romans 11:6. Hebrews 13:5. First John 5:13. John 10:28-29. God cannot lie. IF we could do one work that would save us, then Jesus died for nothing. Galatians 2:21.

Romans 3:26-28. For He is the JUST and the JUSTIFIER of them that BELIEVE in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. BY what law? by the law of works? Nay, but by the law of Faith. Therefore we conclude a man is JUSTIFIED by Faith apart from the deeds of the law. For by the deeds of the Law shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED. Romans 5:20-21 Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds.

Romans 3:23. Romans 3:9-10. Our righteousness is not Gods perfect righteousness without which, no one will see God. Romans 4:6.

First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 6:40, John 5:24, John 6:29. John 6:47. God cannot lie. Romans 4:5-8. Faith alone apart from any works. All sin paid in full. John 3:18.

Rewards in heaven. First Corinthians 3:11-15. Chastening by the Lord for living in sin. But our sin debt is paid in full. John 3:18.

This argument is so flawed. He shows a lack of understanding of what he calls "hyper-grace, " saying that those who believe future sins are forgiven never have to confess sins and therefore never grow in grace. Those of us who believe in "once saved, always saved" DO believe that we must confess our sins to God daily as John says in 1 John 1:9. Why? Not to keep our salvation, but to stay in fellowship with God and grow in His grace, becoming more like Jesus. Our salvation is already secured, but sin impacts our daily FELLOWSHIP with God. Just like a parent and child, when the child does wrong, the parent doesn't throw away the child forever, but the relationship is affected by the child's disobedience and must be restored. When we sin, our salvation is NOT affected but our fellowship with God is, and that must be restored, or God starts to discipline us and withhold blessings for our good, so as to drive us back into a right relationship with Him. And we DO strive for obedience and spiritual maturity, not to keep our salvation, but out of love and gratitude for God, and our desire to grow closer to Him.

Believing you have to confess sins daily to keep your salvation is flawed, because repentance and confession NEVER saves you. Repentance only leads you to Christ. It is the placing of your FAITH in Christ that saves you (Ephesians 2:8-9), not your act of repentance. You can say you are sorry and ask God to forgive you a million times, and it will have no bearing on your salvation. It is not until you place your faith in Jesus alone that you are saved. The two go hand in hand, but it is faith that saves you, not your daily act of repenting of sins. My faith in Jesus never waivers, even when I sin, therefore my salvation is never lost. You would have to totally lose your faith in Jesus to lose your salvation. Daily sin has NO bearing on salvation once you have placed your faith in Jesus. That does not give us license to sin, but we are secure in our salvation.

Absolutely. You have been bought with a price.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”

Just because our sins (all of them) have already been paid for doesn’t give us a license to go on sinning. Its actually the opposite...Christ forgiving ALL of our sins IS the reason we live a righteous and holy life.

Mr. Brown I'm an avid follower of your broadcast. If I'm not wrong, I heard you saying it is a fundamental error to say that our "future sins are already forgiven when you get saved" and yet you affirmed it is a provision on the cross. It appeared to me that there is some contradiction on your statement? Appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Sir, I’m not hyper grace but I do believe in eternal security. You said that basically people who believe that their sins were fully paid for think we don’t have to confess or ask God for forgiveness but that’s not true.. we confess our sins because we are truly saved and so get convicted because the Holy Spirit is in us. We also ask for forgiveness for our intimacy with God not for our salvation to be secure. How do you miss interpret all the passages that say He forgave all our sins? It doesn’t say He forgave our past and present sins only but from the viewpoint of the cross He forgave us for all our sins. That’s why His sacrifice was enough and that’s why He said “it is finished”. I just don’t understand how you could think this way. If I go by your view then I couldn’t be confident in my Salvation. But the word of God says we can know we have salvation and aren’t condemned.
