The R type is a delight to drive but in reality it is just a Mk.6 with small improvements so don't pay silly money. A really good one can be had today for under £25, 000 so a great introduction to classic driving. In the UK they are exempt MOT, Road tax and ULEZ and are a practical every day car. 22MPG is possible, that's better than a Range-Rover. no prize for guessing which I would choose.
