Nice! I worked for Comcast for 5 years and at one point we used the ipV6 address to log into the back end of our modems whenever we needed to change anything or verify info . Full circle 😎

So with IPv6 addresses there are so many addresses available per person you can put each end device on it's own subnet?

Am I understanding it correctly that subnets can be nested then, and we can/could have a toplevel subnet, and then a computer/switch/router could subnet further? I imagine this might only be something a very large company could or might do, but... is that a correct understanding?

If IPv6 is subnetting the forth octet, is it going to be /48 instead of /64 given 2600:DDDD:1111 are already prefixed? Or this type of subnetting is used only for IPv4?
