when your water cooling set up costs more than what you are actually cooling....

Really good info, advice and appreciate the links in the description. I have one note for anyone doing this project: before adding the coolant I would trim and orient / organize the hoses to be the exact way you want them to be. If you're going to mount everything on a board or some kind of housing..do it before connecting the hoses. Think logically about where your components are going to 'live' - maybe even draw the layout. You don't want to fill the system with coolant until you're 100% satisfied with the layout and length of the hoses (the less wasted length, the better) and try to orient ALL POSSIBLE liquid fittings so that in case they fail they won't drip directly onto your system board or power supply. Obviously you can't do anything about the CPU fittings, but the others can be routed around your components.

Drinking game: every time he says "alright, guys", you take a shot.

I saw "Watercooling a Raspberry Pi 3" and instantly I was sold - awesome idea.

So I started watching ".. take our adhesive strips .." aand you lost me. What's the point of watercooling if you're going to use bloody adhesive strips?

Another point - you use an adaptor to get 3mm fittings, but then you cap off four of them. Why didn't you use two of them - one per chip? I'm sure you could have dramatically increased the water flow rate doing that rather than constraining the flow to a single 3mm tube.

Fun drinking game: take a shot every time he says, "I'll put a link in the description"

Why did you use a SATA to Molex adapter when you only needed one molex?

That has to be the worst placement of the adhesive pad I have ever seen. You should put it on the heatsink first and at least cut it to size.

The fan is sucking the air through the radiator, although the table is blocking the airflow. Certain pumps may break when they run dry, although I’m pretty sure that only happens with diaphragm pumps though.

The pump clearly isn't powerful enough, when the air is stuck in the loop.
Also, when your radiator is lying flat, there is minimal airflow.

You're basically just placing a plastic bottle on top of your Pi with no liquid circulation.

This isn't watercooling. This is putting unnecessary cable clutter and water onto a Raspi.

I can see why people are disliking the video, for one the waterblock is pretty much covering half the cpu and two; its soo over kill. BUT personally I really enjoyed the video and i have seen several attempts of people trying this, but this has to be one of the best ones! Good job dude!

I see a lot of ridiculous hate in these comments, so as a professional system builder let me clarify some things; Water cooling a PI Isn't pointless, It actually incredibly increases the overclock-ability of the chip, I use one to emulate all my N64 & SNES games on the go and it lags on some N64 due to lack of core speed, a bulky solution yes but still a neat one. also, the reason it looks like there is no liquid circulating when he is trying to remove the air bubble is because the reduction for the large to small tubing severely reduces flow rate, and It was trickling past the air bubble. also, while the radiator being flat on the desk isn't the greatest solution, the radiator itself even without the fan would probably be enough to cool the PI alone just by passive heat dissipation. Great video, keep it up.

12:10 "this is a red switch" as opposed to other colour switches which fulfil an entirely different purpose 😂
