I fitted the Eufy system last year and have had a very good experience with it. I didn’t get the top of the range set, but am still impressed, the only issue we have encountered is adding a new camera months later, but we may have found a solution on YT to this! 👍

The colour night vision works by reducing the frame rate in order to let more light reach the sensor, you'll notice how blurry the image is when there's movement. Infrared will give more detail which will serve you better when you need to identify a visitor, welcome or not.

Have you tried shining a high powered torch at these new cameras? I've seen some of these low light cameras have trouble showing a clear image when hit by "High Beam" Thanks again really love the channel.

I'm in the Eufy camp like yourself Stuart. I've had their doorbell for two or three years as well as a couple of smaller battery-powered cameras.

The S3 Pro cameras look pretty clever so thanks for showing them. I wonder like yourself though, just how they'll perform during the winter months. A while ago I bought a S340 camera like the one you showed us in Eufy Part 1 and it's great BUT I've realised it'll need charging occasionally.  I live in Wales and a couple of weeks ago we had a few really sunny days, though last week things were pretty overcast which has a huge impact on charging the battery.

Larger scale panels behave differently but I've noticed the Eufy solar panels seem to have a threshold below which they simply won't charge so don't bank on getting all the way through the winter months 🤔 My camera is currently triggering quite a few notifications while I tweak the settings so I'm sure yours will be different.

I'd put a small bend in the solar panel cable going into the camera to prevent any water tracking into the connection 👍

Hi Stuart, I love my Sunday morning watching your Channel as well before the weekly food shop, wife still sleeping. Just an observation, the soffit camera solar panel won't get much light or sun to charge so this will be interesting.Impresssive Eufu system though 😊👍

I have this camera and it does need some light for the color night vision to work. It will not see in complete darkness or without IR.

I have the homebase 3 and a Eufy solar cam + one non solar cam. They make excellent wildlife cameras ( I have two Hedgehog Houses ).
One thing to be aware of is that if you control them using Apple Homekit you do lose some functionality.

How did the solar panel fair out with the camera did it do its job with the camera ?

All Eufy solar products are suitable only if they are installed facing south especially in UK. Trying any other orientation that offers less sun during the day, will not be ideal. I got 3 cameras and during winter time only the south installed works without flaws, the rest being installed on north side and east - do not cope with the daily amount of light, are inefficient
