Commenting 11 years after this post seems useless, but here we go: I've used this keyboard forever. Sometimes I've been tempted by others, but I never stick with them. I love the feel of the keys, the travel, the silence. I love the illumination. When the Enter key broke, I got an MX Mechanical Tactile, which had a good feel but wasn't perfect in terms of key placement, and it's not as silent as I hoped it would be. I used it for a month or so, but I'm still not used to the key placement. I don't need the fancy features that allow me to pair the keyboard to multiple devices. I am not a gamer. I just want to type comfortably, and I don't want to worry if i am disturbing people on Zoom. I also have the MX Master S. Another very good keyboard. But the angle is wrong, it's too flat. The key travel is too shallow. At least it's fairly silent. All are illuminated. The battery on the K800 at this point needs to be charged a couple of times per week, but this doesn't bother me. Despite having two other premium keyboards, I'm ordering a new Enter key from Ebay so I can fix my K800.

Had one of these forever, excellent keyboards! I stored my Model M away when I got this one, the ergos of the M were fatiguing during extended use.
Replaced one set of batteries and it's still going strong.

I have this one to, and PLUS you don't have to push a key for it to light up it detects your hands so when you go to type the light comes on without having to touch the keyboard . You can just wave your hand over the keys also and the light comes on .

On the K800 Keyboard itself, you can determine if Caps Lock is on by checking the green indicator light in the top left corner of the Caps Lock button. If it is lit, Caps Lock is on and all of the letters you type will appear in uppercase.

I have this keyboard and I can attest to it being awesome. I used to murder a keyboard a year because I write books. I used to joke that every book killed a keyboard. This one has lasted through several and has been great for late-night writing. I highly recommend it.

I’m getting this keyboard for Christmas, but it’s gonna be 2024 and I’m gonna love the keyboard because I see stuff in the dark ball

No, there is no setting to keep the lights on, wich is why I got rid of mine as you're constantly waving your hand over the keys for the light to come back on. The light only stays on for like 2 seconds. You can make the light stay on by having the charger plugged in and still use the keyboard, but i'm not sure thats good for the battery to always leave the charger in.

Isn't the entire point of a backlit keyboard to help you find the first key you need to press to type out a sentence or to find your way back to WASD in a game? How does lighting up AFTER detecting input help at all? That said, thanks for the video.

I am typing on this keyboard right now (can't you tell?)  It is the best keyboard ever!  And the "chiclet" keys are quiet.  Love how it senses the approach of your hand - 1/2" (12.7mm) before you even touch it!  Got mine remanufactured on ebay for $50US - that's the way to go...(have been using it for a year now)...

This video is old af but I love this keyboard. Bought it about a year ago. Quiet, still tactile enough, definitely not rubbery, wireless, illuminated. Perfect for a non-gamer. Just wish I could get it in rgb haha

ive used this keyboard since 2010 and ive gone through 2 of them i wish they made this same keyboard with newer tech... this keyboard has the nice palm rest built on ... not too crazy that the newer ones eliminate that feature. almost a deal breaker but i have to upgrade for multi device and quick charging...

You know is good when still in 2023 people are looking for this bad boy.

Would you say that this is a keyboard for large hands? Im 6'3" and regular keyboards fall a bit short and mess up my typing speed. Thankd in advance my dude

Wish it had a volume scroll wheel like on the gaming keyboards though. Otherwise damn good keyboard and easy to type on. I like the hand detection function when it turns on the backlighting (which is configurable) when your hand is near the keyboard. The keys themselves have a reasonable travel distance, less than on normal keyboards but more than on normal laptop keyboards. They're pretty quiet. Also, the keyboard supports rollover. The battery lasts pretty long, and they're replaceable with alkaline or rechargeable ones like Eneloops. The function keys are also backlit in this version. I think I should do my own reviews.
