Ess-a-bagel is the best! Use time zones to your advantage and get up at dawn to have your bagel. Next time, you can also try Tal Bagel, which is pretty much as good, has more locations, and is less crowded.

Combining work with travel is an awesome idea! You are working in the right profession to try this out. I came across a handful of people doing just that - going somewhere they want to visit for anywhere from a week to a couple of months, and working remotely. All of them worked in IT / software. I was somewhat jealous of their flexibility.


Also, I'd recommend you try staying at a good hostel somewhere for 3-4 nights on your own, if you haven't done solo travel before. I think meeting new people is one of the best things about solo travel, and staying at a hostel (pick one that provides complimentary breakfast - you normally see and meet people as you're all looking to grab a bite at the roughly the same time) is the easiest way to do that. Being on your own and not really talking to anyone is fine for short periods, but if you're sticking around for a couple of weeks, its good to be able to just chat with other people.
