How does that fabric work with soil above? I think I prefer the gravel to the surface technique, if you want to know water is going to the pipe and not the basement or filling up the yard

That fabric filter is great until you put dirt over it. The last time I tried the French drain technique the topsoil almost immediately clog the fabric. How do you get around that?

Geo fabric is the way to go. I use to wrap my deer stands. I use it for landscape fabric in flowerbeds. And I use it for any kind of French drain.

I fired my contractors when I discovered amoung other things that he had used landscape fabric - I had to redo the whole drain.

Has nobody ever made the connection between this and men’s bathroom urinals? Yes I get the spiky things that we get to piss into now but even those have blow back so o feel like I’m to something here.

Geo textile has different weights to it for different soil types and works awesome when installed correctly.

Why don't they put some dirt on it to see if the dirt goes through

I thought you wanted the water to be able to pass through the fabric. That's why the pipe has holes or knife cuts along the bottom.

IM LOST! I want a BARRIER to stop the flow and redirect it before it hits the wall.That way; when water falls on the surface, it hits the plastil and DOES NOT pass thru. That way the water will flow laterally or paralles to the exterior walls away and down before it hits the wall or goes deeper underground. covered with stone I would think this would work well for 5 to 7 years???. ANY SUGESTIONS?

BS, I used landscape fabric in all my flowerbeds.. kept the weeds out .... strangly my plants got water please explan .

Notice how they didn't show said landscape fabric. Weed mat fabric is able to let water pass it just stops weed's growing through it. I wouldn't recommend it for drains.
