The sniper bit is actually kinda funny, I've always liked the idea of one character holding something in his art style, and then when someone else takes it, the item is now in theirs

Demoman actually does have two eyes though. It attacks the team every Halloween. He wears the eyepatch to keep it in his head, but Halloween is when its demonic magic is most powerful. I’m pretty sure merasmus cursed it out of jealousy for his and soldier’s friendship
