Imagine spending $1000 on a Discord Bot...

Mee6 has lost the plot. Seriously.

I don't know in what parallel Discord universe or reality Mee6 is existing in, but spending $1000 for a Discord bot subscription is nearly impossible for most people. And even if you had $1000, why wouldn't you spend it on anything else.

Mee6 is hands down the worst Discord bot I have ever had the pleasure of making a video on. This is quite frankly, the most disgusting cash grab I have ever seen.

Imagine spending a thousand bucks for a "lifetime" licence, only to have it walked back and terminated at most five to ten years from now, like every single subscription model company does with their lifetime licenses. Major update comes along, lifetime license doesn't extend to this update, old version gets locked out due to "security reasons". And while you still have your lifetime license for the old version, it's useless because Discord won't let the old version you have a licence to be operated anymore. Because I have no doubt this is how these "lifetime" licenses are going to end up. No subscription model company will release lifetime licenses without fine print to walk it back; it's too good of a deal for the customer if they obligate themselves to indefinite future updates for a fixed up-front cost.

This is exactly why more people should host their own instance of an open-source bot so they have more control over it, or even better would be making their own bot. I made my own bot from scratch, and have no regrets. It's worth the time and effort.
