$10,000 CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS

In this video, I show how to make concrete countertops for my abandoned building kitchen renovation series. To make these concrete countertops, I went out to Fishstone's concrete artisan studios, so we could see how to make ultra high-end concrete countertops, which typically sell for around $100 per square foot. To make the countertops, we used a glass fiber reinforced concrete mix. And we end the video by installing the concrete countertops in my kitchen at the abandoned building.

For the rest of the world that is asking, it is about $1080 USD per square meter :)

The bathroom sink build was 'proof of concept' imo. That turned out incredible. The cherry, is the kitchen build out. Go Modustrial!

The amount of time and effort, as well as technique and skill, that goes into crafting those countertops totally justifies the cost. The end result is absolutely gorgeous and looks incredible with the white marble backsplash along the long wall. I also think the aesthetic of modern countertops and cabinetry mixed with the original brick walls is the perfect contrast. I can't wait to see the finished product, especially that wood cutting board section on the island.

Honestly the most high quality part of your build series so far. These countertops really standout and make everything look so much better. I think it matches the industrial look with the brick and metal around the entire place. Great video cant wait to see everything when its finished!

Decides to hire countertop installers because they have the right equipment. The equipment: 4 huge dudes and their hands.

I love this series, but what I love even more is that there is so much Kat in the videos. Her energy brings me immense amounts of joy!

As usual, you put together a top notch video and your entire project is a mind blowing endeavor. I was fortunate to visit the site and see just how much hard work you are putting in. Not only in the renovations, but the time to film and edit it all. Your results are simply

It was an absolute blast working with you, Kat and of course Bruce on the counters. I look forward to another project soon! I have to say my favorite part of the video was the Ariat promo the three of you did....well done.

Wow, I never knew concrete could look almost like a dark stainless steel. They are really beautiful. Well worth the price.

Stellar! Very likely going to go with concrete counters vs epoxy when the time to redo our kitchen comes around.

Having done both laminate and epoxy kitchens I would choose laminate for it's durability and options.... although epoxy is kinda fun. But concrete is more durable than both.

See, I knew Kat and Bruce were doing most the work!

Counter tops look great, we all wait with baited breath for the whole place to be finished.

Looks great. Love the design aesthetic. No critiques here - one option for your sink. In my place I added a instant on hot water dispenser. Same style as your faucet and under mount. Kohler brand. We love it and you have tons of room if you want to add it later. Great for coffee or hot water for cleaning. My concrete dining table was made about 18 years ago. Jealous at how the technology has come along. Your counter weighs less than my table. Thanks for blurring out your dogs junk. Don't want to get any pups excited. Great job.

As someone who isn't a big fan of concrete in the home (it's always felt very cold to me), I can't deny that these look very sharp and are hands down the best looking concrete countertops I've seen.

This looks amazing! Honestly I thought 10k was excessive at first, but the attention to detail is so exacting and satisfying. I definitely think I would scale some materials back if I did it on a budget, but you do get what you pay for here.

Firstly I want to say thank you. It can’t be easy pushing out these videos while building out the renovation. The effort to make these while braking your back is greatly appreciated. As for the counter tops they look amazing. Can’t wait to see the rest. It’s looks like the plan is falling into place. Keep pushing.

Never, ever, in a million years will I ever go through that process myself. That said, this is definitely one the of most fascinating videos you've posted in my opinion. Unbelievable level of planning, strategy and tactics to get to the end result. And I am so happy you didn't encounter any major fuck ups!

I absolutely love it I just wish you'd done some up for the backsplashes as well. But overall it's a gorgeous countertop. Also something you forgot to talk about is how concrete counter tops age... Sealers prevent some stains but over time they will pick up scratches and stains like drink rings and the like. To me this isn't a negative... I love the look of aged surfaces and the way concrete stains is pretty awesome, in my book. But for others thinking about this you need to be aware of this so you aren't disappointed. For me it's something I love about my counters.

I’m a huge fan of concrete surfaces and your countertops turned out great! Tom seemed like a very down to earth guy I’d be willing to support by buying his product for a couple of my future projects.
