IKEA Fyrtur Blinds First Impression and Home Assistant Integration

Today we check out IKEA's Fyrtur smart blinds. Is the blackout any good? Is it noisy? Spoiler Alert: they're excellent. With that out of the way let's go ahead and add these into our Home Assistant setup as well.

I am so glad you mentioned in a reply to another comment (and inferred by the video) that you can just directly attach these blinds to HA without the repeater and buttons!

I looked at sources that said you had to do that first, which just isn't true at all.

I moved into a house that had two of these blinds and now I can control them in automations thanks to this video!

Is it possible to set timer in integration? Closing on set interval and opening on set intervals?

Do you have a batter indicator on them?

I’m struggling with six of my eight blinds. I still cannot get the up button to register in HA. Could it be a firmware issue?

I have been using them for a few months now. Battery doesn't last more than 2 days, bought a new battery and keep having the same issue, I am using deCONZ integration. Could it be that home assistant is pulling for position and battery level very often and that drains the battery? If yes do you know how I can fix this?

Do you know if it's possible to use both Home Assistant, and the open/close remote? thanks!

Does HA report the state ie open/closed? Can you call a service to open them to 50%?

You’re hard to understand and the annoying music doesn’t help at all. Did you have to pair the switch and the extender first?
