Great for guys with smaller wrists. I wear the automatic version a lot with Vario tweed strap. This is a fun and easy watch to throw into the mix between a diver and a flieger.

I have the Vario Empire Autumn (salmon dial) and can attest to the stunning details and beautiful dial work. I personally find the legibility good, even in low light. That’s likely as the black against the salmon color has more contrast and the sector style divisions help in quickly reading the time.

Despite having (nearly) the same watch, I couldn’t help but watch the video completely through. Nicely done and great shots 👍

Who’s the boss? I can see why you feel like keeping this, it looks outstanding 🤩. I have a lot of respect for those skipping Miyota movements, nothing wrong with them at all! Shame this movement is discontinued, I would love to experience it one day.

That Does Look like a Very Nice piece with a Sexy See Through Caseback.
I’ve always loved a see through Caseback but I know water Resistance tends to be compromised as opposed to steel Caseback.

Thanks for the review. It is a nice enough watch, I just don't see the $370 US value. Seems quite a bit overpriced. Great camera work though...Personally, I would want more for my money, and I don't think that watch brings it.

I wouldn't be happy with the accuracy, and that amplitude is low. I think it is a hand winding 8215, but may be wrong. Watch looks lovely though, and thanks for the review Richard, LOL

The Vario Empire is a beautiful, well-made watch with a superb hand wind only movement. I bought it, was incredibly impressed, and . . . returned it to Vario. I was still figuring out my favorite type of watch. When I got my Empire, I absolutely loved it, and then I didn’t want to wear it. It was too nice looking, and I wasn’t willing to risk scratching it up. So, thanks to the Empire, I figured out it’s tool watches for me (divers and field watches). So the Empire is a wonderful watch I would never purchase again. By the way, Vario makes excellent straps at good prices, and the owners Ivan and Judy are great people to work with. Very responsive.

Are you kidding? You say that's a nice movement? That's a grotty greasy movement. They should have put a steel caseback on it!

For $350 and plus 20 seconds a day is absolutely unacceptable. I would send it back and exchange it . Anything over 15 plus or minus in my opinion is unacceptable.
