Yes it is. Especially for beginners. I now live in the Dominican and I'm married to one and it is hard and different than other Spanish but I found myself being around her more and listening to her I'm understanding her better. So yes for beginners it is.

its been my experience that Dominican Spanish is more fun to learn, for me. I do a lot of training en Spanish for workers on the farm here in the USA. Depends where they are from and I adjust my Spanish so they can easily understand the training. I am always in DR its my favorite place!
