I think I know what's going on when executing this glitch, and if I'm right, can be done with other guns.

You see, the bullets will do different amounts of damage depending on which gun is being used. The glitch allows you to change the damage values of the bullets by switching guns, because the bullets are constantly checking what gun is being held by the player. So when you shoot the shotgun, it's 3 damage per bullet, however, the moment you switch to pistol, it changes from 3 to 15 per bullet, with 10 bullets produced from the shotgun. So going by that, it's possible to with other guns and have AK or Rifle doing 45 DPS. It's possible to fix this by simply giving the bullets a set value instead of constantly changing one.

if you don't know the reason why this happens is because when you switch as soon as you click on the shotgun, when the bullet hits the person, the game detects it as pistol shots. That's why when nate completed his mission it said kill 20 criminals with a pistol.
