A while back I did a video about kayaking in the Weeki Wachee River, and question that I've been getting is "Are there Alligators in the Weeki Wachee River?" Let's attempt to answer that!

Never seen them there myself. But they have had to temporarily close down the spring once because one was around the swim area.

Am local and have visited this river dozens of times over the last 20 yrs. I dont think there was ever a time that i DIDNT see gators. They are all over this river, however they do not seem to be too interested in humans. Ive never felt threatened of unsafe swimming there, but its Florida peolpe, regardless of what this video says, they are everywhere. Just keep your eyes open when swimming and if you have small pets like dogs with you, keep an eye on them.

Not true.. After I was there, a man was attacked by a gator and died.

Alligators dangerous unless provoked? Keep believing that myth. Are they as aggressive as most Crocs? No. But, wrong place, wrong gator, it would still kill you

I'm not too worried about alligators, but are there any other dangerous creatures there? i've heard there are water moccasins

It's an accurate video, especially the first three shots of tourist kayakers with their paddles upside down! They are more dangerous than the gators, bahahahaha

There’s no gators I swim down this bitch at Roger’s park I don’t even use a kayak or anything just walk down the river a bit of a pain but it definitely beats kayaking

The other danger people should be aware of are pythons that have grown very large.

Nope There are only alligators in two rivers in Florida One is the Watccagata river in Pondlizid county and the other is in Runawaya Country in a river with an Indian name that I don't know how to spell but it translates to you swim here you be eaten or something like that

Don't bother them, and they won't bother you

You should be scared with bad people rather than alligators.

Safe place as long as a big one doesnt show up.. Big ones get territorial and maybe you dont see them on the weeki. But they are all around the rivers it runs into. They WILL swim in salt water also, , Not for long but we do see them in the flats. ANYWHERE in FL you should plan for a dangerous encounter if your a paddler. Even where all the yankees swim

Gators there don't want to have to deal with the dangers of a potential Trumper encounter🤣
