iPadOS 15 Multitasking is Much Easier!

Multitasking in iPadOS 15 has changed and should make it a bit easier to get into split view, slide over, and even get into the new shelf feature. In this video, we go over every change that Apple has made to multitasking in iPadOS 15.

A couple notes: 1) There’s another way to add shelf. Just tap on the dock icon - no need to press and hold and go into menu mode. 2) When in full screen mode, you can just swipe down in the app to go into split screen mode (no need to tap split-view with those 3 little dots). 3) You can push slide-over window off screen on the left side, like before, AND off on the right side, which is new to iPadOS15.

Some tips- pressing gobe, option and right/eft arrow puts it in spit screen and pressing gobe f puts it bac to fu screen!

The App Library animation is super nice and buttery, and I love that you can get to it from the dock as well

End my suffering please 😭. iPadOS 15 beta 1 is amazing, but the biggest problem I’m facing right now is poor internet connection. This is because if you enable VPN or have a firewall enabled OR have iCloud private relay enabled, then your WiFi + mobile data will not work. Not only that, but your WiFi in general will disconnect a lot which sucks :(

Shelf on Safari is all very well but why can’t apple introduce profiles? I would love to ditch chrome once and for all.

The problem is this isn't "new multitasking." All the issues and limitations of multitasking that have existed since iOS9 are still there.

I think the workflow can be better streamlined.
Putting control at the bottom of the screen means less arm travel = better.

Looking forward to this update. I pretty much exclusively use my iPad Pro with magic keyboard for everyday stuff like watching youtube and sending emails. The new multi tasking feature of being able to put any app in split screen and now just the stuff from your dock, is going to be great. I use slide over all the time and hate that i have to have an app in my dock to use it in that way.

Great video. It’s cool to see that Apple is serious about giving the iPad a full featured operating system. Although I’m hoping the ellipsis menu doesn’t evolve into a menu bar in future versions of iPadOS. One thing I really like about the iPad is the intuitive user interfaces in apps which is much preferable to having to search the junk drawer equivalent of a menu bar like on Mac OS.

I regret updating… this is immensely worse.
Everything used to be so smooth with the gesture
All this update did was dumb down the multitasking for the people that were too lazy to learn it.
IMHO, they should make an option to keep the old one for the ones that new how old one worked.

How do you Close (not Hide) a Slide Over window?! I have wrestled with controlling Slide Overs, especially when they’re over Split View apps.
