The Rift Zone EL (Electric Light) is @marin_bikes take on a SL eMTB, with a 140mm rear end with a 150mm fork and a pair of 29” wheels. It relies on the power of the Bosch Performance Line SX drive system. We managed to log a day on this new alloy eMTB prior to its release, so let us share how it went, and tell you all of the details.

Finally, a removable battery in an SL. you can carry a spare in the car whilst charging the other on a power pack or take them into your accommodation and charge. This is the way to go rather than trying to save on an integrated battery system.

I loving the entire concept of the marin rift zone el. How much does the bike weigh with out the battery?

Nice bike. Same travel as my Trek Fuel EXe. Nice to see more SL options out there with good spec and decent price

very similar in concept to transition relay.... mid power motor, smaller removable battery. the transition costs a lot more though with carbon frame.

I didn't expect the steep headtube angle 😅

Love Marin bikes but not a fan, the frame shape is strange 😮

I just don’t care about 140/150 e-bikes. We need them all to be 165/170 and all with removable batteries so you can travel airlines with them. If I’m getting an ebike, it better be able to descend EVERYTHING. And who care how they pedal up when it’s pumping out extra watts. Efficiency doesn’t matter when it’s adding 400w to every stroke. Also, the mullet needs to go the way of the dodo 🦤. Full 29r, removable battery, SL motor, and at least 160mm of rear travel.
