0:06 - Iai Spirit Slash, seemingly unchanged from it's iteration in World.
0:10 - Stab into Spirit Blade 1 into Spirit Blade into Spirit Blade 2 into Spirit Blade 3 into Spirit Roundslash: Notably Spirit Blade 1 and 2 have been changed. They can now be used as a gap closer with pretty massive ranges, and can be used at least to the sides and forward. The video does not show these attacks being used to step backwards. Spirit Blade 2 now hits TWICE instead of once. The hunter flashes after landing the Roundslash, indicating a Spirit gauge level up.
0:16 - Stab into Upward slash into Foresight slash into Spirit Roundslash. Seemingly unchanged from World.
0:21 - Stab into Special Sheath into Iai Double Slash into Spirit Blade 2 combo. Iai Double Slash causes your Iai gauge to increase, and notably, it combos right into Spirit Blade 2 instead of Spirit Blade 1, speeding up the combo.
0:30 - Full Spirit Blade combo With Spirit Blade 1 and 2 being used to move forward INTO the monster
0:35 - NEW Follow-Up after a Spirit Roundslash. Considering this clip is supposed to show off red gauge, it stands to reason this move can only be used at red gauge. The hunter jumps and slashes once, possibly allowing for more follow up options.
0:37 - Completely new basic attack combo at red gauge. First and second attacks hit twice, 3rd attack hits thrice. This is also seemingly only available at red gauge and with how quick the hits are, seems to lend itself towards elemental or status builds. Also, these are NOT Spirit attacks, the Spirit sound effect does NOT play for these.
0:41 - Focus Mode and Focus attack. Aside from looking cool as shit, landing this attack successfully appears to level up your gauge as indicated by the hunter flashing and the blade turning red.
0:46 - Iai Spirit Slash as previously seen
0:48 - Spirit Helm Breaker - Looks like it's World iteration, this also still seems to consume a red gauge, as the blade stops glowing red after the attack lands.
0:49 - NEW Follow Up attack after Spirit Helm Breaker. Not much to say here. It looks like two upward Slashes, but it's hard to make out if it hits more than twice or how it combos into other stuff as the clip cuts out mid-animation. MAYBE it goes straight into a Special Sheath?
0:50 NEW move, Hunter enters a ready stance, flashes, and goes STRAIGHT into a Spirit Roundslash, seemingly without the enemy attacking him, so this is NOT a counter. We don't know what the requirements for this are, but the stance does remind me a bit of Sakura Slash from GU/Rise. Might be a stretch.

I love that there's a metal weight at the blunt end of the blade, just adds to the stopping power of each swing and is a very nice touch by the design team!

So they added more Vergil to this weapon? The extra slashes after the helm breaker are 10/10

0:34 Spirit Roundslash doesn't auto-sheath your weapon anymore!

Wait, can we just appreciate the fact that every armor they showcased so far are amazing?

And it's only in the early stages of the game!
Just imagine those you'll get further in game, holy.

You can see in this video, Capcom put extra attention to realism in this video as the long sword user did not touch the monsters tail. This is because they played public lobbies in MH rise and iceborne to prepare for these showcases.

Seeing how fantastic the armor looks in this game makes me hope that layered armor is unlocked early

Damn it, Capcom. Every single time I want to use a different weapon as a main, you keep making the Longsword better!

So sick that all the weapons we saw so far have ways ro move sideways or backwards during attack combos
This is definitely gonna increase the skill ceiling, and i love that

The text describing that "certain attacks" get more powerful at red, I wonder if the changes for Wilds is going to be to make longsword overall slightly weaker per hit, but allow players to use its combos in a much more seamless and diverse manner. Fade slash in particular seems to be a lot more versatile with fast follow-ups and a spirit slash that covers a lot of physical distance to get right back into the fight.

The overall toolkit has in the past been somewhat segmented imo, a big goal this time looks to be that you can transition between all of them much more cleanly and with much greater flexibility.

0:35 not sure if this was already noticed but seems like both meters in spirit gauge are being drained at the same rate, my guess is spirit blade attacks don’t drain the gauge until it depletes on its own but that’s just my guess.

I’m really going to enjoy this if LS starts playing more like LS from MHFU.

I’ve played LS in every release but I’ve never really liked the big flashy attacks like Helm Breaker that deplete your bar, I’d much rather have the red gauge state where your attacks are stronger while the bar drains and you have to keep landing hits to stay in that state.

I may not be explaining this very well but I think people who played LS in MHFU will understand what I mean.

0:40 Something about being able to strafe in that stance fills me with an overwhelming delight. And I love the new graphics for the spirit gauge.
