Was Joan of Arc a Messenger of God or Schizophrenic?

Joan of Arc heard voices inside her head, but whether they were sent from God, a mental illness, or simply her unconscious mind is up for debate.

Honestly if she was actually schizophrenic that would make me respect her even more

A mentally unwell peasant in medieval france managed to fight her way into the status of a cultural icon through the power of faith, dedication and charisma

Joan of Arc was not a liar and not insane. She was a very astute individual
which the court documents of her trials show. When the inquisators asked her if she was in God's grace, she responded, "If I am, let Him keep me there. If I am not, may He put me there." Her troops followed her because she had natural leadership and ability at military tactics that inspired her troops. Whether Joan heard voices or not doesn't matter, she thought she
did.

Another medieval woman with similar abilities was the composer Hildegard von Bingen(1098-1179). She was an abbess, musician, composer, herbalist, mystic, and the Pope even granted her a special dispensation that allowed her to preach. The visions she had from early childhood might've landed her in the hands of the Inquisition. However, her parents were smart, and sent her to be educated at a convent as soon as they could. Anyway, I would seriously recommend looking her up!

The story of Abraham, driven by dreams and perceived divine communication to sacrifice his child, raises ethical and mental health concerns. In modern contexts, such actions could lead to legal consequences and psychiatric evaluations. The intersection of religious devotion and potential delusions prompts reflection on the adaptability and relevance of ancient teachings within contemporary ethical frameworks

Joan of Arc was a very special person. If it weren't for her, France would have
been a second Ireland under an English monarch. She is probably one of the
greatest women who has ever lived.

The only people who seem to be crazy are the ones who so desperately try to diagnose someone who has been dead for Generations all because they made exceptional claims of faith that always seemed to be backed up by extraordinary actions & events!

So i got 2 theories:
1.She was actually delusional and has serious skill in military management.
2.She was actually only pretending and uses that as a advantage.

The king of France in 1420 was Charles VI, known as "the mad". His mental instability made him incapable of governing, so his queen, Isabel of Bavaria, made a deal with Henry V, king of England, to marry her daughter, Catherine, the sister of the dauphin, Charles. This was the Treaty of Troyes in 1420 and, in effect, disinherited her own son. Henry had a son by Catherine, the future Henry VI, king of England. After Henry died
his brother, Duke of Bedford, fought to make Henry VI king of France.

The Dauphin Charles didn't have a contrived claim to the French
throne, he was the son of the French king, Chales VI. The Plantagenet claim was because Edward III's mother, Isabella, was
the daughter of a French King. The French wanted a Valois king,
not Edward III. to be their monarch.

Ironically, the saints Joan believed spoke to her, Catherine and Margaret, have been struck off the catalogue of saints because of doubts they existed - while Joan herself has been admitted to it.

Without aid from God, it would be difficult to explain Joan's surviving a lethal arrow wound
above her breast at the Siege of Orleans, a crossbow bolt to her thigh at the battle of
Paris, and withstanding a 60 foot fall in her jump from the tower of Beaurevoir.

This is a one sided argument: target being the voices. Nothing really is mentioned about Joan 'seeing' and 'feeling' Sts. Micheal, Catherine and Margaret. There also is this overlooking of the accurate information from the voices. It's easy to label one who hears voices as being crazy. However, when the voices are ALWAYS correct, never off topic, causes me to marvel over this affair. There are several (too many, actually) good books about Joan: I recommend THE GIRL IN WHITE ARMOUR by Albert Bigelow Paine.

I’ve read a lot about Joan of Arc and I can’t find anything to suggest she was fit for a psychiatric ward. Her judges may have believed her voices were demons, but that does imply they accepted the voices as real and not a figment of some madness.

With the case of Joan of Arc, her deeds and extensive paper trail almost make it not really matter. One thing is definite, Joan herself believed that she heard voices. And whilst supposedly hearing these voices, she took France from being England's punching bag to being a real European power again, all by becoming what was essentially a celebrity. Men were so sure of her words and divine messages that they died for her, and even Kings listened to what she had to say.

Do I, personally, think she had a mental illness, such as schizophrenia? Given that I don't hold any faith towards any divine beings, and that I am not a religious person nor believer in the paranormal, yes, I believe that is the most logical answer we can come up with today. However, from the perspective of a religious/devout individual, I can definitely see the idea that her acts were in-fact ordained by God. It all makes sense from either perspective, since there's really no evidence tilting either direction, it just matters which you choose.

The Golden Legend, tells the story of Mary Magdalene, how she was set adrift in a rudderless boat, and landed providentially in France where she remained for the rest of her life. Mary saved France with the Gospel of Jesus Christ before retiring to a cave to live out her life, naked, without food and drink, for 30 years. Mary was carried into the lower heavens daily by angels, then brought back for the nights. Mary provided a SIGN like Joan of Arc, to the King and Queen of France, to prove to them that she was sent by God. She prayed for them to bear a male DOLPHIN (heir apparent, crown prince) and they had one. The couple had been unsuccessful for years, and this was their request from Mary and her God and Savior Jesus Christ. Joan likewise provided a SIGN to the DOLPHIN of France, Charles 7th (VII) to prove that she was sent by God. Mary saved France with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and when she returned to France, she saved it AGAIN, this time with the Sword of the LORD, and by her own martyrdom. King Charles the 7th, whom Joan placed on the throne of France, died in 1461 on the FEAST DAY of Saint Mary Magdalene, July 22nd. JESUS-MARIA.

Joan of Arc' coming in 1412-1431 was foretold as much as 800 years in advance of her coming, in the the MAID of LORRAINE PROPHECIES.

POPE PIUS X said about Joan of Arc, that she is a bright shining new star destined to be the GLORY of not only France, but of the UNIVERSAL CHURCH was well. POPE PIUS X beatified Joan of Arc in 1909. She attained sainthood in 1920 under another Pope.

'Schizophrenia' means 'I am able to hear'
and so one can't acquaint madness with 'I am able to hear/schizophrenia'... the real question is: where did the visions come from?

That entirely relies upon whether she believes THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 THE CHRIST, or not... as she was a catholic— she probably didn't believe this, but if she did, then what she was telling was THE TRUTH.
