CFMOTO 450 MT | Hard Core Off Road Riding

Going hardcore off-road on the impressive CFMOTO 450 MT.

"The transformation was like night and day. All of a sudden, a bike that felt cumbersome, sluggish, and heavy off-road, turned into a bike I was much more comfortable to throw around and safer to power slide and attack the track with added rider confidence. At least, as much confidence as you are going to get from a bike that weighs 175kgs dry. It really did change my initial opinion on this bike right away and it was time to go bush properly to see how the 450MT handled some real adventure.

I started off by hitting the grass paddock in a somewhat controlled situation, getting used to how the bike felt with the back wheel locked up, and how much I could push the front brakes before the ABS system kicked in. I found I could brake really hard on the front – right to the point where the ABS might kick in – and ride that very fine line, giving me ample braking on the dirt. Once the ABS kicked in then it would take off a bit – which in some situations is not ideal. I suggest all ADV riders practice riding that fine line regularly. It’s a godsend that you can turn the ABS and traction control off on the fly. So no more stopping, finding neutral, and making the change. Brilliant!"

If you can get that bike through that terrain, I'm confident it can get me down my local gravel road safely. :😜😜 Seriously though, thanks for dropping and I enjoyed your review on your website. (see description) I've been looking for a stable mate for my KTM 990 for a while and this one looks very promising. The 990 has a similar feeling to what you described when I added some proper knobs and took it into the woods and onto some singletrack almost 15 years ago. When it is moving, it just feels smaller and confidence inspiring and that is what the 450 appears to deliver. (loved your get some training/practice comment in the article) Thanks for dropping this vid, you certainly have the skills to back up your written review. Say hello to Rotorua for me. It was our jumping off place for 3 months of back packing, climbing, and rafting through your amazing country many years ago. Cheers from the mountains of Utah in the States.
