I think it's important to question everything. Not for the sake of challenging but for a more complete understanding.

Anytime you see nice even numbers like the resistance of human skin being 1000 ohms, please don't take that as the empirical truth because it isn't. There is a lot of content online and for sale that unintentionally mislead people with round numbers. The numbers are useful to illustration broad guidelines but they're at best approximate. The problem is when those approximations are held up as absolute or disregarded completely by those who know they aren't.

The radicals would either blindly follow the standards and assume safety, or assume the standards are lacking reality and substitute their own standards which is usually virtually none or less safety. Though one mindset is more safe, both are suboptimal.
